About the Club
The Powder Mountain Snowmobile and Outdoor Recreation Club has been operational since 1990.
What we do
We hold a trail management agreement with the Provincial Government for the Brandywine trail system: Chocolate Bowl and Brandywine Bowl. That means we groom it, we sign it, we maintain the first aid caches, and we are responsible for keeping it safe and open.
We are very involved in the Brandywine / Powder Mountain route, and our executive is also involved with all types of recreational access in the Sea to Sky corridor. When decisions get made about who gets to ride where, we are in the room.
Everything is run by volunteers. Pass revenue goes into grooming, machines, safety infrastructure and the paperwork that keeps the agreement alive.

About 30 minutes north of Squamish or 10 minutes south of Whistler. Look for the signs for the Callaghan Valley. Less than 1 km from the highway there is a left turn. Take it, drive past the transfer station, and our parking lot starts in about 300 metres.

Where is the Powder Mountain Snowmobile Club?
The Brandywine trailhead is on Brandywine Forest Service Road in the Callaghan Valley, about 30 minutes north of Squamish or 10 minutes south of Whistler, British Columbia. Look for the Callaghan Valley signs; less than 1 km from the highway there is a left turn. Drive past the transfer station and the parking lot starts in about 300 metres.
How much is a season pass?
A Powder Mountain Snowmobile Club season pass is $300 plus GST per person for the 2026/27 season. It includes unlimited access to the Brandywine trail system and BCSF membership.
How much is a day pass?
A day trail pass is $30 plus GST per sled. Members of other BCSF clubs get $5 off on presentation of their membership card. Passengers require a pass but passenger passes are free, and children under 16 ride free with a parent.
Can I buy a membership at the booth?
No. Club memberships are sold online only, through the club's Amilia store. You can buy while sitting in the parking lot, but not at the booth, so purchase before you arrive. Daily trail fees are non-refundable.
When do the trails open?
The trailhead opens once there is enough snow to groom, usually around December, and closes when the snow melts and the groomers can no longer operate safely. Check the conditions page for the live grooming report.
Which trails does the club groom?
Powder Mountain Snowmobile Club holds a trail management agreement with the Province of British Columbia for the Brandywine trail system, covering Chocolate Bowl and Brandywine Bowl. The groomed network runs to roughly 26 km across four zones: Brandywine Bowl, Chocolate Bowl, Metal Dome and the Base area.
What radio channel does the club monitor?
The club monitors FRS/GMRS Channel 16 at the booth, on frequency 462.575 MHz. This is not the marine Channel 16, and a marine VHF radio will not work. The more riders monitoring Channel 16, the better the chance a call for help is heard.
When are club meetings?
General club meetings run on the third Monday of each month from December through April, at 7:00 pm via Zoom. All are welcome to attend, and the Zoom link is posted on each meeting's event page.
Do I need avalanche gear?
Yes. The Brandywine area is complex avalanche terrain. Carry a transceiver worn on your body, a probe and a metal-bladed shovel, and never ride alone. Check the Avalanche Canada forecast for the Sea to Sky region before every ride.
Are there webcams?
Yes. The club runs six webcams at the Parking Lot, 4 Corners, Brandywine Bowl, Chocolate Bowl Rescue Cache, Chocolate Bowl LookOut and Metal Dome. Recent images appear on the conditions page. Most webcams are taken down over the summer and return once the snow arrives.
